Community Action and Social Media

Use and non-use of social media in community organisations

Introduction

This survey is part of the CASM Project (‘Community Action and Social Media’) which is researching the use and non-use of social media for community action among community groups in England. The project is being run by the Third Sector Research Centre at the University of Birmingham, UK, with support from the Barrow Cadbury Trust. A full report will be available later this year: you can register to be notified when it is available, at the end of this questionnaire.

This questionnaire has been designed to find out what difference social media has made for voluntary groups or organisations and the wider communities they are involved with. We are also particularly interested in the reasons for non-use, so please take the time to respond even if you are not currently using these technologies.

The survey should only take about 5-10 minutes to complete. Thank you for your time.

The data from this survey will be anonymised. Your cooperation is appreciated and respected. By completing this survey, you indicate your consent to the collection, analysis and anonymous use of data submitted. Data will remain confidential and secure under University of Birmingham Ethics Guidelines and the UK Data Protection Act (1998).

When navigating through the survey, if you wish to go back to a previous screen, please use the buttons on the questionnaire form, not your browser.
4. Contact details for the person completing survey. (We will use this to keep you informed about the progress of the research and future events. Contact details will not be shared).
